Meetings

How do you register for a WECC meeting?
  1. Registration for WECC meetings is handled through Eventbrite.
  2. You can register by clicking on the 'Eventbrite' link provided in emailed announcements.
  3. You can also register from the meeting page via the Calendar on the WECC website.
Where can I find meeting documents, such as agendas?
  1. Meeting materials are available on the meeting page via the Calendar on the WECC website.
  2. Locate the meeting on the calendar and click to open it.
  3. Scroll down to view and open available documents.
  4. Meeting documents are available for up to two years after the date of the meeting.
  5. For meeting documents from a meeting held two or more years ago, please contact the current staff liaison for the committee.
How do I view all meetings for a specific committee?
  1. To view all meetings for a specific WECC committee, visit www.wecc.biz.
  2. Go to the 'Committees' page and select the committee from the drop-down list.
  3. Once on the committee webpage, click on the calendar icon next to 'See Upcoming Events.'
  4. Upon clicking this icon a list of all meetings for that particular committee for the past two years will appear, as well as any that are currently scheduled for the future.
How do I access a webinar?
  1. WECC uses WebEx for webinar committee meetings.
  2. If a webinar is available for a meeting, the webinar information will appear on the meeting announcement.
  3. On the announcement, look for 'Click here to open the webinar in your browser.'
  4. Once WebEx opens on your computer, click on 'More information' to see the audio connection phone number and access code.
  5. When it is time to join the meeting, click on 'Join'.
  6. A new screen will appear that will allow you to choose the method with which you would like to join the audio.
  7. For the best sound quality, click on the VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) option by clicking on 'Call Using Computer.' This will connect you directly to the meeting without using your telephone.
  8. From here you will be able to view and hear the presentations being given in the meeting.

 

Careers

Does WECC offer internships?
  1. Yes. WECC typically hires interns on an annual basis.
  2. The positions are posted in the spring on the WECC Careers page.
  3. WECC also participates in the winter career fairs at the local universities. We provide information at the career fairs regarding the internships that will be filled.
  4. Internships are typically full time for a three-month period in the summer months.
How long does it take to process an application for employment?
  1. The application process takes anywhere from one to three months to complete.
  2. After you successfully submit your application, you will receive an email.
  3. If you are selected for an interview, you will be called by a member of our Human Resources team.
  4. If you are not the successful candidate, you will be notified by email that the position has been filled.
Do you have any job openings?
  1. All open positions are posted on the WECC Careers page.
  2. We only accept applications through our UltiPro Careers portal, which can be accessed at the link above.

 

Troubleshooting

Website Account Accessibility
  1. To obtain credentials for the WECC website, go to WECC's home page (www.wecc.org), and select "Log In" in the top right of the home page.    
  2. From the drop down, select the option to "Request a Login". This generates a form which you will need to complete.
  3. Upon submission of the form, you will receive an email that will request that you verify your email and create a password. After you have created the password, you should be able to log into the website.
  4. You will need to use Internet Explorer 9 or above or an alternate browser of Firefox 18+, Chrome 24+, or Safari 6+. Occasionally, the verification email does go to a spam or junk folder. If you do not see the email in your inbox, then check the spam folder.

  1. To add or remove an individual from a WECC committee distribution list, please send the requested changes to support@wecc.org. Someone from our Administrative Services team will respond to your inquiry.​

How do I request confidential information or data?
  1. Please address requests for confidential information to support@wecc.org.
  2. Requestors who are approved will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

How do I become a WECC member?
  1. WECC membership is open to any person or entity that has an interest in the reliable operation of the Bulk Electric System in the Western Interconnection. For more information about WECC membership, please visit the Membership page on the WECC website.
How do I get to WECC from the airport?
  1. WECC is located at 155 North 400 West in the Salt Lake Hardware Building.
  2. The Salt Lake Hardware Building is located at the crossing of both the downtown train (TRAX) and the commuter train (Frontrunner).
  3. A Utah Transit Authority (UTA) map for TRAX and Frontrunner is available on our website. You can also plan your trip on the UTA website or app. UTA Map Trax and Frontrunner
